  • bbSmall The goal of TheBBR.com is to provide the resources & information required by student-athlete & family to achieve their goal of obtaining a college baseball scholarship.
  • bbSmall Student-athlete & family are responsible for understanding the recruiting & application process and timelines required to play college baseball. 
  • bbSmall Student-athlete & family must be realistic when assessing college baseball scholarship-probabilities.

College Baseball Probabilities

  • bbSmall Less than 5% of high school senior baseball players play college baseball.
  • bbSmall Division I baseball programs only offer 11.7 full athletic scholarships.
  • bbSmall Division II baseball programs only offer 9 full athletic scholarships.
  • bbSmall Division III & NAIA baseball programs offer financial & academic aid for qualifying student athletes, but no baseball scholarships.
  • bbSmall Only elite players (1% of Division I, II, III, NAIA, & JC baseball players) receive full scholarships. 
  • bbSmall Most receive 10%-50% of full tuition & must seek other financial aid & scholarships. (Coach divides scholarships among 25-40 student-athletes.) 

  

College Baseball Scholarship vs. Professional Baseball Contract

  • bbSmall Less than 1% of high school senior baseball players are drafted by professional baseball team. 
  • bbSmall Less than 10% of college senior baseball players get drafted by professional baseball team.
  • bbSmall Only 5% of drafted players ever play "1" day in major leagues.
  • bbSmall Student-athlete & family must decide what college degree is worth.
  • bbSmall Be familiar with NCAA recruiting-rules & eligibility of student-athlete. 
  • bbSmall Difficult long-term decision for student-athlete & family
